PeekCut: point at things to learn what they are, cut anything out of a photo

Overview

A camera tool for the phone browser, in Khmer and English. Identify draws live boxes around what the camera sees and explains anything you tap. Cut out lifts an object from a photo, then lets you change the background, crop to ID-photo sizes, erase, adjust and save.

What it does

04 features
  1. 01

    Live identify

An object detector runs on the phone itself and tracks things in view a few times a second. Tap a box for a short, natural description.

  2. 02

    Clean cut outs

The phone finds the object once, then only that crop is sent for segmentation, so outlines are tight and the phone stays cool.

  3. 03

    A real result editor

Background colours or your own photo, shapes from 1:1 to 3×4 ID photos at 300 dpi, erase and restore brush, adjustments, shadow and sticker outline, with undo.

  4. 04

    Khmer and English

The whole interface and every description work in both languages.

How it's built

  • Detection uses RF-DETR in WebAssembly inside a web worker, throttled and paused when the view is still or the tab is hidden.
  • Descriptions and names come from a vision model on Cloudflare Workers AI; cut outs use Cloudflare Images segmentation.
  • The API only answers its own site, with per-visitor rate limits and size caps, behind a strict Content Security Policy.
  • Installable as an app, with a service worker, its own icon set and link previews.
