Helm
A terminal made for Claude Code. It tells you which task needs you.
Overview
Helm runs the real claude command and adds what a terminal built around it should have: status on every tab, approvals from anywhere, usage limits, conversation history, a changes panel, parallel tasks and tabs that reopen the same conversation. Free and MIT licensed, for Windows, in 11 languages.
What it does
06 features- 01
Approve from anywhere
When a tab you're not looking at needs permission, answer it from a Windows notification or Helm's approval inbox.
- 02
Usage you can see
Live 5-hour and weekly limit meters, reset countdown, your pace, and which tab is using the most.
- 03
Every agent at once
One page groups every conversation into Needs you, Working and Finished, with context used and cost.
- 04
Review like a pull request
Comment on lines in the diff, send all comments in one go, and undo a single part of a file.
- 05
Talk instead of typing
Hold Ctrl+Space and speak. Speech becomes text on your own PC, with nothing sent anywhere.
- 06
Sessions you can't lose
Tabs come back after a crash or restart, in the right folder, in the right conversation.
How it's built
- Every pane is a real shell (PowerShell or Git Bash) in a ConPTY pseudo-terminal, drawn with xterm.js on WebGL.
- Status, approvals and notifications come from Claude Code hooks posting to a local, key-protected endpoint, not from scraping the screen.
- History, usage and cost are read from the files Claude Code already keeps on disk; nothing is uploaded and there is no account or telemetry.
- Signed auto-updates from GitHub Releases, tests in CI, built-in code editor, browser pane and developer tools.
